                                                                        Handout  /  Lecture Materials

October 12, 2004

In the first hour, students were exposed to a standard range of mid to late 21st century IPCC descriptions for temperature, climate, agriculture, sea level rise, severe weather events, season and species migration, etc.

In the second hour, students were asked to divide in groups and address any one of the following topics;

    Stop global warming:

      -         energy supply
-         transportation
-         building infrastructure
-         industry

Adapting to climate change:

      -         human dislocation
-         food supply / animal and plant migrations
-         increased heat / florida
-         disease vectors / education
-         financing

As a general aid, each group was provided a handout and given 30 minutes to come up with a general statement of what their topic would look like in 2100. The results can be seen in the video's above.
